Our goal is to continue to provide a safe, fun and healthy place for horse-loving kids to be nurtured and molded into strong, compassionate and capable horse-loving adults, providing avenues for critical emotional, mental and physical well-being in ways only horses can provide.

ABOUT US

MoonRock Ranch Barn Kids is a nonprofit organization located in Roseville, California, dedicated to offering young individuals horse and barn experiences, but not your typical experience.  We teach them to bond with the horses, to form deep relationships with the animals, their peers, mentors and our natural surroundings.  Think of it as equine (and other animal) assisted healing, including the innate natural healing that comes with being out in nature, touching the Earth, soaking in the sun, feeling the wind and rain.  Learning the value of working for something you love, at the same time caring and having compassion for other beings, be they majestic steeds or sweet, feathered chickens. Through all of the barn and garden activities, we nurture physical, mental, and emotional health and growth, fostering trust, leadership, mentorship, and a sense of community. Children earn valuable time with our horses by engaging in horse, barn and garden related chores, creating lasting memories and learning important life skills. We have been offering this opportunity to our community since 2001, and through community support, we will continue to do so for as long as we are able.
